Perception is Projection

This blog is an interactive blog.

I want you to get involved and take some action.

Now, I want you to close your eyes.

What are you perceiving success or failure, positive or negative?

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attraction”

– Albert Einstein.

Do you ever watch a movie or read a book and your emotions start flowing: happiness, sadness, anger, fear. Even though you know what your watching or reading is fiction and not real life, you can feel it, you can imagine it and it’s just as real to you as the air you’re breathing.

Did you know that you possess a great tool that accelerates the achievement of any success? Visualisation and imagination creates compelling and vivid pictures in your mind and it may just be the most underutilized success tool you have yet to experience the benefit of.

When you perform any task in real life, researchers have found your brain uses the same identical processes it would use if you were only vividly visualising that activity. In other words, your brain sees no difference whatsoever between visualising something and actually doing it.

This principle also applies to learning anything new.

Harvard University researchers found that students who visualised in advance performed tasks with nearly 100% accuracy, whereas students who didn’t visualise achieved only 55% accuracy.

Visualisation simply makes the brain achieve more.

Most all Olympic and professional athletes now employ the power of visualisation. Sports psychologists and peak performance experts have been popularising the power of visualisation since the 1980’s.

Jack Nicklaus, the legendary golfer with more than 100 tournament victories and over 5.7 million dollars in winnings, said this!

Visualise your goals

When you visualise your goals as already complete each day, this creates conflict in your subconscious mind between what you are visualising and what you currently have. Your subconscious mind tries to resolve that conflict by turning your current reality into the new, more exciting vision.

Through constant visualisation and focus 3 things happen.

  1. It programmes your brain to start being more aware of anything positive that will help you achieve your goals.
  2. It activates your subconscious mind to create solutions to achieve the goals you have set. You will start waking up in the morning with new ideas, you’ll be taking a shower and be inspired with a new idea or out for a walk or driving to work with new ideas.
  3. It will motivate you more. You will start to notice you are doing things easier that will take you to your goals.

Start by writing down your goals and using this list to focus on everyday. The more you think about these goals the more focused and motivated you will be to make them become reality.
